Great Happening:

‘Beyond the Window’ opens Sept. 1

“Beyond the Window,” an exhibit of stained glass mosaics, will be on display in the Ashtabula Arts Center gallery Sept. 1-28. There will be reception with artist Lisa Ruschman, free and open to the public, 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 1.

Ruschman has been creating stained glass mosaics for over 20 years. Inspired by the beauty of the glass and her love of nature, her work has evolved  from simple and functional garden pieces into fine art portraits of the flora and fauna found in the back yards and parks of Northeast Ohio. Her studio is located in the Matchworks Building at 8500 Station St., Suite 300A, Mentor.

The Ashtabula Arts Center gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.-noon. The gallery is also open before performances and during intermission. Admission is free. Persons interested in purchasing artwork from an exhibit should see the Arts Center front desk.

Ohio Arts Council helped fund the arts center with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
