Spring Farmer’s Market set to bloom

Choosing Healthy Eating for Wellness and Strength (CHEWS) officially opens the farmer’s market season in Ashtabula County on Sunday, March 4, with a spring market at the Conneaut Human Resource Center, 327 Mill St., Conneaut.

The market will feature products from area farmers and other vendors and is a continuation of a winter farmer’s market held in November and December 2017. The project is a collaboration between Conneaut Human Resource Center and the Trillium Center.

Dates for the spring markets are March 4 and 18; April 15; May 6 and 20.

Vendors and farmers interested in selling should contact Samantha McNutt, community garden coordinator for the Conneaut Human Resources Center. To sell at market days, the cost is $5 per day or just $19 for the entire season, first and third Sundays, noon to 3 p.m.
